Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Maximum yields are set per variety: 11,000 kg/ha for Zametovka, Portugalka, Gamay and mixed varieties, 10,000 kg/ha for Modra Frankinja, Šentlovrenka, Modri Pinot and Zweigelt. Minimum grape sugar is set per variety (142.6-169.3 g/l). Grapes are destemmed and macerated; stopping fermentation, sweetening and potassium sorbate are not allowed; actual alcohol 10.5-12.5 %, total acidity 4.5-7.0 g/l. Vine density must exceed 3,100/ha on terraces steeper than 20 %. National specification (2013): minimum average grape sugar 142,6 g/l for Žametovka, 158,1 g/l Portugalka and Gamay, 163,7 g/l Modri pinot and Šentlovrenka, 169,3 g/l Modra frankinja and Zweigelt; organoleptic score at least 16,5. It gives actual alcohol 10,3–11,5 % vol, titratable acidity 5,5–7,0 g/l, Žametovka at least 30 % and other varieties 5–15 % together, which differ from the single document; existing values are kept.
