Copernicus ERA5-Land monthly averages at 5 vineyard points (Vineyard point 1, 123 m; Vineyard point 2, 37 m; Vineyard point 3, 130 m; Vineyard point 4, 116 m; Vineyard point 5, 41 m), moved to each point's height from the model's terrain. Indices that need daily data are not captured yet. How the climate figures are made.

Lower confidence:Monthly reanalysis in complex terrain (height corrections up to 4.9 °C); absolute values may be several degrees out, year-to-year changes are more reliable.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

Still to check (3)
  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Grapes are dried (no heat-based dehumidification) to at least 14% vol natural alcohol and may not be vinified before 1 December; at most 65% of the maximum grape yield may be set aside for drying; vines must be in at least their fourth growing season. Wine yield max 40% (no hl/ha figure). Residual sugar may exceed 9 g/l by 0.1 g/l per 0.1% vol above 14% vol up to 16%, and 0.15 g/l per 0.1% vol above 16%. Of the 25% other grapes, at most 15% may be non-aromatic red varieties (max 10% each) and the rest Italian native red varieties. Older pergola vineyards registered before 2010 are exempt from the density and training rules. Classico and Valpantena grapes must be dried and vinified in their own sub-zones.
  • National tier (DOC/DOCG) not captured yet; rules extracted from the specification text.
