Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Main varieties (section 7): 15, including sauvignon, leányka, királyleányka, irsai olivér, hárslevelű, tramini, rajnai rizling, pinot blanc. Classicus grapes need 9.83 % potential alcohol (aromatic varieties) or 10.60 % (Hárslevelű and the other listed varieties); its 13,100 kg/ha limit is stated for mechanical harvest only. Machine-harvested superior and late-harvest grapes are limited to 8,400 and 9,400 kg/ha. Superior vineyards planted after 1 August 2010 need 4,000 vines/ha (classic and late-harvest 3,700); bud load is at most 6 buds per square metre. Late-harvest wine may not be sweetened or partially dealcoholised; classicus and superior may be dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet or sweet. The 2014 national technical file gives classicus grapes 10.60 % vol (17 °MM) for all varieties, without the lower 9.83 % for aromatic varieties in the single document; no must weight is given there for late-harvest wine.
