Worked out from the boundaries (smallest container first). They follow whole communes, so a neighbour sharing a commune can show up here too.

Boundary drawn from whole communes, so it is a little larger than the legal zone. Boundary: Eurac Research PDO inventory (CC0). Country outlines: Natural Earth. Dots on the zone map are the vineyard points used for climate.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

Still to check (3)
  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Permitted varieties include Bobal, Monastrell, Tempranillo, Merseguera and Moscatel de Alejandría. Yields: red 9,100 kg/ha (8,190 'Vino de pueblo', 5,460 'Vino de parcela'), white 12,000 kg/ha (10,800 / 7,200), Moscatel de Alejandría 16,000 kg/ha (14,400 / 9,600); 'Vino de parcela' extraction is limited to 65 l per 100 kg and enrichment is not allowed for it except for liqueur wine. 'Petit Valencia' wines have a maximum actual strength of 9 %. Rosé yields follow the grape colour; the document gives no ageing periods for Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva. Moscatel de Valencia liqueur wine must be 100 % Moscatel de Alejandría. Winemaking may also be in adjacent Valencian municipalities. The national technical file requires 'Petit Valencia' wines to exceed 4.5 % vol actual and 9 % vol total strength.
