Copernicus ERA5-Land monthly averages at 1 vineyard points (Vineyard point 1, 444 m), moved to each point's height from the model's terrain. Indices that need daily data are not captured yet. How the climate figures are made.

Lower confidence:No vineyards are mapped here yet, so this is the climate at one point in the middle of the zone, which may not be where the vines are. Monthly reanalysis in complex terrain (height corrections up to 0.1 °C); absolute values may be several degrees out, year-to-year changes are more reliable.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Vino de Pago (single estate, 49 ha at Malpica de Tajo). Yield limits per variety: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot 10,000 kg/ha and 68 hl/ha, Petit Verdot 12,000 kg/ha and 81.6 hl/ha, Syrah and Graciano 13,000 kg/ha and 88.4 hl/ha (lowest recorded); over-yielding parcels lose the whole crop for the DO. Acidity must be 2.5–6.5 g/l. The blend of aged varietals (whose components already had at least 10 months in barrel) needs a further 6 months in French oak barrels under 2 years old; barrels must be 225–300 l and under 4 years old otherwise. Alcoholic fermentation at least seven days with indigenous yeast, then malolactic fermentation.
