Worked out from the boundaries (smallest container first). They follow whole communes, so a neighbour sharing a commune can show up here too.

Boundary drawn from whole communes, so it is a little larger than the legal zone. Boundary: Eurac Research PDO inventory (CC0). Country outlines: Natural Earth. Dots on the zone map are the vineyard points used for climate.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

Still to check (3)
  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Vino de Pago at La Guardia (Toledo); technical file in Spanish. Red yields vary by variety (lowest recorded): Cabernet Sauvignon 7,500 kg/ha and 56.25 hl/ha, Syrah and Malbec 9,000 kg/ha and 67.5 hl/ha, Merlot and Petit Verdot 10,000 kg/ha and 75 hl/ha, Tempranillo 11,000 kg/ha and 82.5 hl/ha. The 'total maximum' alcohol of 13 % vol equals the acquired minimum and looks mislabelled, so it is not recorded. White wine: 10–30 % of the must ferments and stays on lees in new oak barrels for 1–3 months, the rest in stainless steel below 17 °C. Red fermentation with indigenous yeasts at 22–32 °C.
