Worked out from the boundaries (smallest container first). They follow whole communes, so a neighbour sharing a commune can show up here too.

Boundary drawn from whole communes, so it is a little larger than the legal zone. Boundary: Eurac Research PDO inventory (CC0). Country outlines: Natural Earth. Dots on the zone map are the vineyard points used for climate.

Showing every colour The colour filter changes the rules and grapes. Climate, vintages and soils describe the vineyards, so they stay the same.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

Still to check (3)
  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Products are the specification's categories: quality wine (jakostní víno) and Prädikat-style quality wines with attribute (kabinetní víno, pozdní sběr, výběr z hroznů, výběr z bobulí, výběr z cibéb, ledové víno = ice wine, slámové víno = straw wine) per colour, plus liqueur, sparkling (šumivé), quality sparkling (sekt), aromatic quality sparkling, semi-sparkling (perlivé), carbonated semi-sparkling, partially fermented grape must (burčák), wine from dried grapes and wine from overripe grapes; must weights are in °NM (normalised must meter). Dry extract values are the lower end of the stated range; volatile acidity limits are also given in meq/l; varieties are any registered in the State Variety Book (the specification lists the planted area by variety); jakostní víno odrůdové may blend at most 3 varieties. Ice wine grapes must be harvested at -7 °C or below and stay frozen during pressing. Straw wine grapes are dried for at least 3 months (2 months if the must already reaches 32 °NM). Quality sparkling wine may be made by tank (at least 60 days) or bottle fermentation (at least 9 months), so no single method is recorded. 'Archivní víno' may be released no earlier than 3 years after the harvest year; 'mladé víno' must be sold by the end of the harvest year. 'Rezerva' (still wines only) needs 24 months' ageing in wood and then bottle, of which 12 months in wood for red and 6 for white or rosé. 'Premium' applies to výběr wines from grapes at least 30 % affected by noble rot. Wines from dried or overripe grapes are defined by reference to the straw-wine and ice-wine/výběr rules; liqueur wine needs 15-22 % actual and at least 17 % total alcohol.
