Copernicus ERA5-Land monthly averages at 5 vineyard points (Vineyard point 1, 453 m; Vineyard point 2, 408 m; Vineyard point 3, 563 m; Vineyard point 4, 507 m; Vineyard point 5, 475 m), moved to each point's height from the model's terrain. Indices that need daily data are not captured yet. How the climate figures are made.

Lower confidence:Monthly reanalysis in complex terrain (height corrections up to 2.2 °C); absolute values may be several degrees out, year-to-year changes are more reliable.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

Still to check (3)
  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Musts for wine and quality sparkling wine need a natural strength equal to the wine's minimum actual strength (11 % white/rosé, 12 % red, 11 % sparkling). Liqueur wine is fortified with 77 % vol wine distillate early in fermentation, up to a maximum actual strength of 20 % vol. The sparkling wine's 9 months is time on the bottler's premises after bottling. Vines must be single-variety plots, low-trained, on schist, greywacke, gneiss or granite soils; wine may be made within 10 km outside the area with permission. No acidity minimum is given. The national specification lists training as bilateral or unilateral cordon, Guyot or goblet (taça), with the pruning head at most 1 m high; the 55 hl/ha yield is given there as 7,500 to 8,500 kg of grapes. Selecção wines must have at least 80 % of the marked varieties in the vineyard; rosé may include up to 30 % white grapes, palhete up to 15 % and clarete up to 45 %.
