Delimited vineyard land

The delimited vineyard parcels themselves, so the shape is patchy: only land within them may grow the wine. Boundary: INAO parcel delimitation (Licence Ouverte); nearby parcels drawn as one block, with less detail for larger appellations. Country outlines: Natural Earth. Dots on the zone map are the vineyard points used for climate.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

Still to check (3)
  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: The register lists only 'Côtes de Toul'; the text governs white, gris and red wines separately, so gris (pale rosé made by direct pressing, recorded as rose) and red are added. Gris wines must include both gamay and pinot noir; the per-variety and pinot noir limits apply to the holding's vineyard and the 85%/15% limits to the blend; maximum load for gris depends on variety (10.5 t/ha pinot noir, 12 t/ha others). White and gris residual sugar may not exceed total acidity by more than 2 g/l, capped at 8 g/l; vinification is also allowed in Toul (immediate proximity area).
  • National tier (DOC/DOCG) not captured yet; rules extracted from the specification text.
