Worked out from the boundaries (smallest container first). Uses the delimited parcels where INAO publishes them.

The delimited vineyard parcels themselves, so the shape is patchy: only land within them may grow the wine. Boundary: INAO parcel delimitation (Licence Ouverte); nearby parcels drawn as one block, with less detail for larger appellations. Country outlines: Natural Earth. Dots on the zone map are the vineyard points used for climate.

Showing every colour The colour filter changes the rules and grapes. Climate, vintages and soils describe the vineyards, so they stay the same.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: The text is the joint cahier for all 51 Alsace grand cru appellations; Florimont makes white wine only, from a single named variety or a muscat blend. Figures differ by variety and only the lowest minimum / highest maximum is recorded: sugar 195 g/l and 12.5% for gewurztraminer and pinot gris (170 g/l, 11% others); maximum total alcohol 15% for gewurztraminer and pinot gris, 14% for riesling and muscat; VT/SGN gewurztraminer and pinot gris need 270 g/l / 16% and 306 g/l / 18.2%. Vendanges tardives, governed separately, is added; VT and SGN may not be enriched, are hand-picked like all grand cru wines, and are aged until 1 June of the second year after the harvest (others until 1 November of the following year).
  • National tier (DOC/DOCG) not captured yet; rules extracted from the specification text.
