Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

Still to check (7)
  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Specification covers quality sparkling wine only, by second fermentation in bottle; sweetness from brut nature to dulce. Yields by variety (lowest kept): 10,500 kg/ha for Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Băbească Neagră; 11,500 kg/ha for Fetească Albă, Aligoté, Riesling Italian, Merlot and Şarbă; 13,500 kg/ha for Fetească Regală and Galbenă de Odobeşti. Wine yields: 57 hl/ha (Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon), 60 (Băbească Neagră), 63 (Merlot), 65 (Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon), 72 (Fetească Albă, Riesling Italian), 75 (Şarbă, Aligoté), 87 (Fetească Regală, Galbenă de Odobeşti). Base wines need 9.5 % vol total alcohol, 6.0 g/l acidity, 15 g/l extract and at most 4 g/l sugar (that paragraph mistakenly names Târnave). Hand harvesting only; nine months on lees is the condition for the mandatory traditional-method indication.
  • National tier (DOC/DOCG) not captured yet; rules extracted from the specification text.
  • Also covers PDO-RO-A1193, registered separately for some wine types under the same name; its wines are listed here.
  • From the specification: Specification covers white aromatic quality sparkling wine in demisec (32-50 g/l sugar) and dulce (over 50 g/l) versions only, so sweetness is not fixed. Şarba may yield 11,500 kg/ha (115 q/ha) and 86 hl/ha. Single fermentation of must under pressure to 6 bar; production lasts at least one month; bottling and release from 1 December. Maximum 30 buds per vine; vineyards planted after 2008 need 100 % varietal purity.
  • Also covers PDO-RO-A1584, registered separately for some wine types under the same name; its wines are listed here.
  • From the specification: White and rosé wines are one category with shared limits. Maximum yields are set per variety: the white grape figure is for Fetească regală, Galbenă de Odobeşti, Crâmpoşie, Frâncuşă, Mustoasă de Măderat, Furmint and Riesling italian (146 hl/ha; Plăvaie 162 hl/ha; other white varieties 15,000-16,500 kg/ha and 116-127 hl/ha); the red figure is for Codană, Arcaş, Negru aromat, Portugais bleu and Cadarcă (Băbească neagră and Burgund mare 17,500 kg/ha and 135 hl/ha; Cabernet Sauvignon, Fetească neagră, Pinot noir and Merlot 16,500 kg/ha and 127 hl/ha). Processing may take place in listed neighbouring Vrancea localities. The national specification (2011) predates the single document and sets lower yields (10 500–15 000 kg/ha and about 75–113 hl/ha by variety); existing values are kept. It allows enrichment by at most 1,5 % vol and names quality levels D.O.C.-C.M.D., C.T. and C.I.B. without separate grape-sugar limits.
