From the specification: Varietal wines may name any variety suitable for Lombardy (also frizzante; red ones also novello) and follow the limits of their colour. The 26 t/ha limit already includes the 20% increase of D.M. 2 August 1996. Vinification is also allowed in bordering communes; Lambrusco-group wines may be vinified white and the rosato must be vinified off the skins. The bianco may be abboccato.
