Where it is

Puglia in Italy

The protected area is the whole administrative region, so its official outline is used. Boundary: Eurostat NUTS 2021 regions (© EuroGeographics). Country outlines: Natural Earth. Dots on the zone map are the vineyard points used for climate.

Showing every colour The colour filter changes the rules and grapes. Climate, vintages and soils describe the vineyards, so they stay the same.

  • Same area as its administrative region; the boundary is the region's outline.
  • From the specification: Varietal wines ('varietale' products, plus Primitivo and Aleatico with their lower yield) name one of about 50 listed varieties (Aglianico, Aleatico, Asprinio bianco, Barbera...) and take the limits of the wine of the same colour; they may be frizzante, spumante (white only), passito, novello (red only), da uve stramature ('vendemmia tardiva'), and rosato from black grapes. Two varieties may be named if together 100%, the lesser above 15%. Frizzante and spumante grapes may have 0.5% vol less natural alcohol. Most types range from dry to sweet, so sweetness is null. Passito and stramature grapes may be dried, also on the vine. The production zone is the whole region.
