From the specification: Varietal wines take the limits of their colour; Pinot nero may also be made as white or rosé and Pinot grigio as rosé. Only Croatina, Malvasia, Moscato and Riesling varietals may be sweet or passito. Moscato may be lightly sparkling (up to 1.8 bar). Vinification is allowed elsewhere under derogation (Ziano Piacentino; Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige for firms operating before 2013) and frizzante may be made in several neighbouring regions.
