From the specification: Vinification is also allowed in neighbouring provinces. Varietal wines may also be frizzante or passito (red varieties also novello) and follow the limits of their colour and type. Lambrusco may be vinified white; the rosato must be vinified off the skins. Riesling appears both in the single-variety list and as a Riesling/Riesling italico group. Grapes for passito may be dried on the vine or in ventilated and/or conditioned rooms. The bianco may be abboccato; the rosso ranges from dry to sweet.
