From the specification: Varietal wines need at least 85% of one variety suitable for Sardinia (Cannonau, Carignano, Girò, Malvasia, Monica, Moscato, Nasco, Nuragus, Semidano, Vermentino and Vernaccia excluded) and must meet the limits of the corresponding colour; they may also be frizzante, and novello if red. Sweetness may range from dry to sweet (novello dry to abboccato), so it is left null. Minimum natural alcohol may be lowered by 0.5% vol in poor years; a derogation allowed vinification outside the zone until 31 December 2012. Art. 6 introduces the characteristics as those of IGT "Tharros", an evident copying error; the product headings name Planargia.
