Where it is

Marche in Italy

The protected area is the whole administrative region, so its official outline is used. Boundary: Eurostat NUTS 2021 regions (© EuroGeographics). Country outlines: Natural Earth. Dots on the zone map are the vineyard points used for climate.

Showing every colour The colour filter changes the rules and grapes. Climate, vintages and soils describe the vineyards, so they stay the same.

  • Same area as its administrative region; the boundary is the region's outline.
  • From the specification: Varietal wines (at least 85% of the named variety) may not exceed 15% vol total alcohol; two-variety labels are allowed if the wine comes only from those two grapes and the minor one exceeds 15%. Vinification is also allowed in the province of Rimini. Natural alcohol minimums may be lowered by 0.5% vol in poor years. Gaglioppo is listed as a varietal type but has no varietal yield or alcohol figures. Grapes may be dried until 30 March after the harvest.
