From the specification: Blended wines come from one or more of Inzolia, Catarratto, Trebbiano, Chardonnay, Nero d'Avola, Perricone, Nerello Mascalese and Cabernet Sauvignon (no shares by colour given). Varietal wines (at least 85%) must meet the limits of the corresponding colour; two-variety wines must come only from the two named varieties, each above 15%. Rosato must be vinified off the skins (in bianco). Sweetness may range from dry to sweet, so it is left null. Frizzante and novello wines need only 9% and 11% vol total alcohol. Minimum natural alcohol may be lowered by 0.5% vol in poor years.
