Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Main varieties (section 7): 44, including budai, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, chasselas, cserszegi fűszeres, csókaszőlő, ezerfürtű. Grape yields are 13,600 kg/ha for hand-harvested and 13,100 kg/ha for machine-harvested grapes (slope-named wines 11,000 and 10,500 kg/ha, 80 hl/ha); slope-named wines need grapes of 11.5 % potential alcohol (193.6 g/l). Fresh wines must blend two to four varieties. Late-harvest, ice, selected-harvest, raisined-grape and slope-named wines may not be enriched or sweetened, and selected-harvest, ice, raisined-grape wines and crémant must be hand-harvested. The 2011 national product specification gives minimum total alcohol (9.0 % vol wine, 9.5 sparkling, 10.0 quality sparkling) but has no 'fresh' wine type; it sets 10.0 % vol minimum actual alcohol for rosé quality sparkling wine, against 9.5 recorded from the single document.
