From the specification: Technical file AM01 (2014). At least 85 % of the grapes must come from the zone (Class I and II cadastre land of Fejér, Somogy, Veszprém and Zala), with a production derogation for Bács-Kiskun, Pest, Komárom-Esztergom, Győr-Moson-Sopron, Vas, Tolna and Baranya. Vineyards planted after 1 August 2010: listed training systems and at least 3,300 vines/ha; older vineyards qualify regardless. Practices in rows 14 and 32 of Annex I A to Regulation 606/2009 are not permitted; sweetening only within the zone or the neighbouring processing area. 'Muskotály' needs at least 85 % muscat-type varieties (at most 15 % of the listed others). About 70 varieties are listed, the main ones including Zweigelt, Zöld veltelini, Cabernet sauvignon, Furmint, Ezerjó, Kékfrankos, Kadarka, Hárslevelű, Chardonnay, Olasz rizling, Merlot, Kövidinka and Pinot noir. The analytical table labels minimum total alcohol as 'tömegszázalék' (per cent by mass), a template label; the figures are recorded as % vol.
