  • From the specification: Rethymno PGI, Rethymno prefecture (Crete) above 30 m. White and red varieties are listed without shares (the text misspells Grenache Rouge as 'Genache Rouge'). Yields: 13,000 kg/ha for white and 12,000 kg/ha for red varieties. The dry white and red tables give a minimum total strength (10.5 % vol) below the minimum actual strength (11.0 / 11.5 % vol); both are recorded as written. The liqueur wine table's 'minimum natural strength' of 17.5 % vol is plainly the total strength, so the 12 % vol natural strength of the must from the winemaking section is recorded; liqueur wine actual strength 15–22 % vol. Liastos (sun-dried grape wine): at least 45 g/l sugars and 16 % vol natural strength, no additions. Wines may be made in wineries in the prefecture or neighbouring prefectures.
