- From the specification: Ilia (Ηλεία) regional wine: white, red and rosé, each dry or semi-dry. White varieties: Asproudes, Assyrtiko, Roditis, Robola, Skiadopoulo, Fileri, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Ugni Blanc, Viognier; red: Agiorgitiko, Avgoustiatis, Kolliniatiko, Mandilaria, Mavrodafni, Mavroudia, Refosco, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carignan, Grenache Rouge, Merlot, Mourvèdre, Syrah; rosé from both lists. Grape yield 12,000 kg/ha is set for red and white varieties and is applied here to rosé too. Dry wines may exceed 4 g/l sugar under EU rules; sweetening permitted for semi-dry wines; fermentation of white and rosé at no more than 20 °C. Greek law lets PGI wines be made in wineries in the prefecture or neighbouring prefectures. Robola and Mavrodafni may not be named on labels.
