Worked out from the boundaries (smallest container first). Uses the delimited parcels where INAO publishes them.

The delimited vineyard parcels themselves, so the shape is patchy: only land within them may grow the wine. Boundary: INAO parcel delimitation (Licence Ouverte); nearby parcels drawn as one block, with less detail for larger appellations. Country outlines: Natural Earth. Dots on the zone map are the vineyard points used for climate.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

Still to check (3)
  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: Shared cahier des charges for all 51 Alsace grands crus; Ollwiller has no specific rules and is reserved for still white wines. Wines come from a single variety (gewurztraminer, muscat, pinot gris, riesling) or a blend of the muscats, and ripeness and alcohol limits depend on the variety on the label, so they are left null: dry wines need 195 g/l sugar and 12.5% natural alcohol for gewurztraminer and pinot gris (170 g/l and 11% for other varieties) and may not exceed 15% total alcohol after enrichment (14% for riesling and muscat); enrichment is limited to +0.5% vol. (gewurztraminer, pinot gris) or +1.5% vol. (others). Vendanges tardives (governed separately but not in the register, added as a product) need 270 g/l and 16% for gewurztraminer and pinot gris, 244 g/l and 14.5% for muscat and riesling; sélection de grains nobles need 306 g/l and 18.2%, or 276 g/l and 16.4%; neither may be enriched, young vines qualify only from the 9th year, and both are aged until 1 June of the second year after the harvest. Hand harvesting is compulsory; still wines are aged until 1 November of the year after the harvest; overall production limit 77 hl/ha; wood chips, continuous presses, centrifugal pumps and plastic sheeting are banned; bottles must be the 'Vin du Rhin' type.
