Worked out from the boundaries (smallest container first). Uses the delimited parcels where INAO publishes them.

The delimited vineyard parcels themselves, so the shape is patchy: only land within them may grow the wine. Boundary: INAO parcel delimitation (Licence Ouverte); nearby parcels drawn as one block, with less detail for larger appellations. Country outlines: Natural Earth. Dots on the zone map are the vineyard points used for climate.

Showing every colour The colour filter changes the rules and grapes. Climate, vintages and soils describe the vineyards, so they stay the same.

Seasons are labelled by harvest year (April–October). Year-to-year changes from ERA5-Land; tested against station records in Alto Adige (r = 0.94 for season temperature at Bolzano). Rain varies more locally, so treat single-season rain with some caution. Vintage ratings, harvest dates and frost or hail events have places in the data model but are not loaded yet.

  • Generated from EU reference data: check against the current product specification.
  • From the specification: This shared cahier covers all 51 Alsace grands crus; most limits depend on the variety named on the label, so they are left null here. (gewurztraminer, pinot gris) or +1.5% vol. (others). Vendanges tardives (governed separately but not in the register, added as a product): 270 g/l and 16% for gewurztraminer and pinot gris, 244 g/l and 14.5% for muscat and riesling; sélection de grains nobles: 306 g/l and 18.2%, or 276 g/l and 16.4%; neither may be enriched and both are aged until 1 June of the second year after the harvest. Single-variety wines or a muscat blend only; hand harvesting is compulsory; still wines are aged until 1 November of the year after the harvest; overall production limit 77 hl/ha; wood chips, continuous presses and plastic sheeting are banned; bottles must be the 'Vin du Rhin' type.
